Rehabilitation sports

The USG offers general recreational sports as well as performance-oriented sports, primarily for young people, in a large number of sports for children, young people and adults. You can find out more about these offers here on our website.

In addition to these sports offerings, health sports have been increasingly offered to the population of the city of Chemnitz for several years now and with great success . One focus of health sports is rehabilitation sports, or rehab sports for short .

In order to be able to carry out rehabilitation sports at all, USG instructors had to undergo further training. They took part in special courses at the Disabled and Injured Sports Association in Leipzig and took exams. Only after receiving the certificate, after successfully passing the exam, does the instructor have the right to conduct courses with people who have been prescribed rehabilitation sports by a doctor due to diseases of the musculoskeletal system, diseases of the peripheral or central nervous system, or diseases of the internal organs .

There are currently five certified trainers working in rehabilitation sports at the USG.
