USG – more than a club
The Chemnitz University Sports Association is the largest sports club in Chemnitz with its 30 departments and sports groups and around 2,000 members. Its members come from all walks of life. The sports club offers sports enthusiasts of all ages the opportunity to spend their free time actively in the areas of sport, performance-oriented and health sports, as well as in sports for the disabled.
The USG is a member of the State Sports Association of Saxony e. V. and the City Sports Association of Chemnitz e. V.
The departments and sports groups are also members of the respective professional associations. They work largely independently, but receive advice and support from the board and full-time employees.
As a large sports club, USG Chemnitz e. V. pursues the following goals:
- to organize leisure and popular sports in a wide variety of forms
- to develop performance-oriented sports
- to intensively promote children's and youth sports
- to offer a wide range of health, senior and disabled sports
In the largest sports club in the city of Chemnitz, interested athletes will find plenty of opportunities to participate in 30 different sports - whether as a recreational or popular sport or more performance-oriented with regular games and competitions.
